Well its been ages since I've written anything, life just seems so busy lately, anyway three weeks off over christmas will help to wind me back down to normalsy. How the time flys when your doing nothing only another week then its back to work again.
I did however get four days down at our Beach house at Rogues Point just past Ardrossan. Lots of walks on the beach with the dog and lots of scrabble
If you had one month to live, what five things would you do?
Suggested by Acerebel. One month isnt long enough but if I had to well I guess
1. put together a shoot with 1000 extras and shoot a picture that I will be remembered for
2. Fly me and David (best friend) "first class" to Paris for one week and then New York and just party, eat drink and cause havoc
3. Buy a case of Penfolds Grange and have 12 best friends around for a dinner party catered by one of the best resturants in Adelaide . and have someone come in and clean up the mess before I get up the next day hehhe
4. I think by the time I've done all of the above I'll have run out of time. except write my own obituary and leave enough money for all family and friends to have a huge party with some of my fav music playing.
Whilst in Sydney for work this past weekend, I walked into the trade fair to start work and as I walked past the reception area low and behold theirs my bedroom up on the wall, I had to take a second look it was huge. Then as I walked around I found another one of my images on another wall this one was actually taken in my lounge so I felt right at home even though I was in Sydney and away from Adelaide. It was such a thrill to see my images in use
It's funny when you travel either people want to know where your from or just seem to ignor the fact that your talking with an accent. Well in Manhattan they have sooo many tourists that its the norm, I even had tourist asking me for directions and by the time I'd been their a few days I could actually tell them, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
I had to keep a straight face one day as I was having a conversation with this Mexican guy and he wanted to know what language do we speak in Australia, I replied English then he wanted to know if that was our first language, well still with a straight face I said yes. Just shows you how much Australia is still unknown.
No one ever picks the aussie accent they always think I'm from England, maybe its an Adelaide thing as I think our accent is a little different than Vic and NSW.
I've just been watching re runs of Sex in the City starting from the first series. It kinda makes me feel like I'm back in Manhattan. All I've been doing since getting back last friday is talking about my trip, seems everyone wants to know what it was like, so I'm all talked out and I wont bore you with the details of my trip other than to say I stayed in Queens Long Island with this lovely guy and a couple of guys from belgium who were also great.
I got to know the number 7 train from Queens to 42nd street and the E quite well which saved me heaps of money and got a better feel of what living in New York is like.
Graffiti is everywhere, especially were I was staying. This was just around the corner

Nice pic, Anne - glad you've been able to take a well-deserved break :) read more
